Having backed up my system to a USB key and external drive I elected to let Windows install updates, including KB4540673. I have just wasted several hours of my time as, Windows selected the updates to install, Windows installed the updates and welcomed me to my new version of Windows. Unfortunately yet again it could not log me into my account and provided another temporary account with a suggestion to log out and try to log in again. This I tried 6 times to no avail and restarting did not help either. Fortunately the temporary account allowed me to restart my system and uninstall the update. This is exactly the same outcome as my attempts to install the previous Windows update

KB 4532693. This is clearly an internal Microsoft issue and has nothing to do with anything on my system. It seems Microsoft is incapable of carrying my account details across this update. Having gone to yet more unbelievable rubbish from Microsoft I was able to log in here to Microsoft Community to post this on the same system with the same log in details which Windows rejected. I am lost. So I am back to blocking updates yet again.

When I try to sign in to MS Solitaire collection the error code 1170000 comes up.  "We could not sign you into XBox live".   There is a link too, but it takes me to a non operative page.
