Realtek Audio device Code 10 cannot start and unable to update

I really expected to see one of them w/o Resources & hoped it would resolve like Jerome said. I'll look around some more tomorrow. I guess your problem is not with those devices, but...

(1) Are their drivers the same as mine, especially the one that seems to do nothing?

(2) What about their Events tabs...?...

For the actual events it's just a list for both of deleted, started, configured over and over from uninstalling so many times.

Neither is what we are looking for: VEN_8086 is Intel and VEN_10DE is nVidia.

Open the computer case, take out the coin battery and erase the cmos. Boot into bios, and load/save the default setting. Hopefully that will jolt the OS to see the onboard audio chip.

I don't know whether your suggestion is a cure. But don't expect to see Realtek under System Devices. Mine is also VEN_8086 with the same Microsoft drivers as his & works fine.

That device is not an actual audio device. It is the southbridge pathway created by the CPU to transmit the Intel HD Audio Protocol to the actual realtek chip. There used to be a separate southbridge chipset, but Intel put the southbridge functions (now called PCH) inside the CPU as the CPU die shrinks.

Also after you reset the bios to default setting, "scan for new hardware" in device manager to see if the actual realtek chip would show up in sound, video and game controllers.
