I don't know whether your suggestion is a cure. But don't expect to see Realtek under System Devices. Mine is also VEN_8086 with the same Microsoft drivers as his & works fine.

My headphone and mic jacks on my pc do not work and I have been trying for hours to get my on board sound working. I got the realtek drivers from my board manufacturer and every time I install them I get (Code 10 : Device cannot start.) I have tried updating and I have the newest driver so I am entirely stuck here.
I have tried many different realtek drivers and none work, not even the one supplied by the manufacturer so I would really appreciate if anyone could walk me through how to actually get my sound working.
I have a Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 board and Intel i5 9600K chip.

Open the computer case, take out the coin battery and erase the cmos. Boot into bios, and load/save the default setting. Hopefully that will jolt the OS to see the onboard audio chip.

(1) Are their drivers the same as mine, especially the one that seems to do nothing?
(2) What about their Events tabs...?...

2020-04-01T05:23:27+00:00 My two High Definition Audio Devices in system devices both have a resources tab. The bus 0 one that doesn't seem to do anything is the one with 2 memory ranges, and the bus 1 that seems to be related to my sound device for monitor speakers is the other. I looked at JeromeBeckett's solution but he was able to uninstall them. I cannot, as soon as I scan for hardware changes they all come back no restart required and unfortunately no PCI thing shows up as it did for him. I already did a clean reinstall of windows so this is immensely frustrating haha.
