Realtek Audio device Code 10 cannot start and unable to update

My headphone and mic jacks on my pc do not work and I have been trying for hours to get my on board sound working. I got the realtek drivers from my board manufacturer and every time I install them I get (Code 10 : Device cannot start.) I have tried updating and I have the newest driver so I am entirely stuck here.

I have tried many different realtek drivers and none work, not even the one supplied by the manufacturer so I would really appreciate if anyone could walk me through how to actually get my sound working.

I have a Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 board and Intel i5 9600K chip.

I'm only guessing -- but maybe you've got to unplug (or maybe even uninstall) the Steinberg CI1 external sound card before the internal card will work again.

I'll go see if they have any bios updates. Onboard audio is definitely enabled that's one of the things I checked first because I thought I may have turned it off as I didn't originally intend to use it.

Have you installed the inf driver? There are very recent bios updates.

Is the onboard audio disabled in bios?

How do I check if I still have support from the manufacturer?

And yes I have used asrocks installer from their download page. It installs the driver but nothing happens and then I have to go into device manager to add it but it says code 10 every time. I did see on their site the audio console needs to be downloaded but I've checked microsoft store and it doesn't seem to be there. Will my driver be able to start if I somehow get the audio console app? It is necessary to fix the code 10 or is my issue likely something else? I am beginning to think I will have to wipe my pc and reinstall windows fresh to install this driver.

Have you installed using asrock's installer (setup.exe)? You should be able to install the 6.0.8890.1 on the asrock's latest driver webpage.

Your motherboard does not come with Realtek HD Audio Manager. It comes with Realtek Audio Console, which you have to download via Microsoft Store after you install the asrock realtek driver (see the faq on asrock's website).
