The correct physical double tap in the upper left corner of your HP Laptop Synaptics TouchPad may also help with disabling if you maybe forgot (or didn't know) to try that for now btw.

I can no longer disable Touchpad (Synaptics SMBus Touchpad) on HP laptop with windows 10. Typical Disabling Driver options through Device control panel are not available. Disable driver options are grayed out. Are there other ways to disable the touch pad? Key strokes shortcuts, etc.?
Latest updates installed. Tried to uninstall touchpad but it just reinstalles automatically upon restart.
