Disable Touch Pad on HP Laptop running Windows 10.

If device manager doesn't offer you 19.5.35.50 automatically. Then ask HP to send you the driver.

The "latest" synaptics touchpad driver seems to be 19.5.35.50 which is newer than both yours (19.5.35.47) and the HP guy who successfully installed the synaptics touchpad app in the giant screenshot (19.5.35.42).

So can you try to see if you can force an update by going to the device manager and press automatically searching update on the synaptics touchpad. IF there is an update, then let device manager update, reboot and then run Microsoft Store to see if the app can install.

Basically you need to make it the most popular post in the HP forum so that other people having the same problem will now point to your post and that the HP staff cannot ignore you.

You need to tell HP staff not to give you useless "solutions" like this (and link to multiple HP forum threads about this problems posted by multiple users) and not to just merely point you to the general HP support hotline:

You can probably add more screenshots. A picture is worth a thousand words.

So screenshots of the "old" control panel (with version number). screenshot of your current driver version number, the giant screenshot of the Synaptics TouchPad app (highlight the version number in the screenshot is very close to your current driver version) that was posted in the HP forum, screenshot of intel's warning that it is stupid to try to go back to legacy driver, screenshot of intel's warning that very bad things happen if installation went wrong...

Tell them to direct you to someone higher up in the food chain.
