Disable Touch Pad on HP Laptop running Windows 10.

I can no longer disable Touchpad (Synaptics SMBus Touchpad) on HP laptop with windows 10. Typical Disabling Driver options through Device control panel are not available. Disable driver options are grayed out. Are there other ways to disable the touch pad? Key strokes shortcuts, etc.?

Latest updates installed. Tried to uninstall touchpad but it just reinstalles automatically upon restart.

    Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

    Which Windows version are you running - 1809, 1903 or 1909?

    I had to do this to get back the option to disable the touchpad:

    This adds extra settings within settings>devices>touchpad where you can turn off the touchpad when a mouse is connected.
