Disable Touch Pad on HP Laptop running Windows 10.

I can no longer disable Touchpad (Synaptics SMBus Touchpad) on HP laptop with windows 10. Typical Disabling Driver options through Device control panel are not available. Disable driver options are grayed out. Are there other ways to disable the touch pad? Key strokes shortcuts, etc.?

Latest updates installed. Tried to uninstall touchpad but it just reinstalles automatically upon restart.

    Intel's new graphics driver came with a Microsoft Store download app (replacing the old Intel HD Graphics Control Panel on the taskbar).

    Here is the Intel's explanation on the importance of installing the new DCH drivers correctly. Install the new drivers incorrectly, you have zero way to configure your device because the old taskbar control panel is gone and you cannot install the Microsoft Store app).

    You are on the right track.

    ALL old drivers that were previously come with a "control panel" that you can dock on the taskbar --- i.e. Realtek HD Audio Manager and Intel HD Graphics Control Panel --- became obsolete in the last 2 Windows 10 updates.

    All new drivers come with a separate app that you download from the Microsoft Store. These new drivers MUST be installed by the installer exe. If you don't install the new drivers correctly, then there is NO way to install the Microsoft Store App.

    HP uses a generic Synaptics TouchPad app (see the giant screenshot in the enclosed web page). The app you cited is for laptops made by Pegatron.

    Yes. I haven’t been able to work on it since your last reply. I did restore a previous Synaptic drive but i had to stop there.
