App Blocked by administrator

I cannot open MYOB, a message comes up that the app has been blocked for my protection. It says to contact the administrator. All help suggestions show sections that do not show up on my control panel

You remember an annoying dialog box always pops up when you run MYOB? For whatever reason, Windows 10 felt your pain and decided to block it... Anyway, once we figure out what mechanism Windows 10 uses to block it, the rest is not so hard.

Just follow the steps in this page and MYOB will run again, without the annoying dialog box.

    If your computer is a Windows operating system it has a regedit command which needs to be run in a command window.

    You get to a command window by right clicking the start button then select Run then key in cmd then click OK and a command window will pop up..

    Then you key in regedit and press enter.

    You are playing in a dangerous area in regedit because if you make a mistake in the wrong place you can cause your PC all sorts of issues for apps and the operating system.

    You will need to check and double check that you are in the correct drill down to the setting you need to change before you change anything.

    Take care this is not an area for inexperienced users.

    There is also a better solution to the regedit option which is listed in one of the other posts which involves downloading a Microsoft Kit which will after some complicated install process etc. will allow you to give access to specific programs instead of opening up the entire PC to security issues.

    That's the solution I used on my main PC.

    If you are unclear on doing this think about getting an experienced IT support person to come to you and do it.
