I received the Patch Tuesday releases today. KB4532693, KB4537759 and KB4538674 dropped in the first wave and all installed successfully. On a subsequent "Check for Updates" KB4524244 downloaded and installed but on the reboot, it rebooted the first time but froze hard on the second re-boot with Step 2 information and a frozen spinner on my screen, no keyboard or any access. After about 15 mins I finally forced the system down. On the reboot, my Secure Boot flagged me that the keys were corrupted. I was able to get those repaired and reboot into the system. I rebooted a couple more times but no updates attempted to install. On a third "Check for updates, the same (KB4524244) update attempted to download but freezes the system at 94% on the download. Again freezes hard requiring a hard re-set. I tried flushing the Software Distribution cache but get the same results.
FYI: I am running Windows defender with VBS (Credential Guard and Hypervisor enforced Code Integrity on an HP EliteDesk 705 G4 MT with a AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics. I also have a similar set up running on an HP laptop (Intel i5), but the update installed fine on it.

Its infuriating. In two weeks got my Asus tp410uar stable enough to remove what I couldnt get backup to save. Over 200gb of files now on an old 7 year old computer for storage. Taking my laptop to a good tech shop near me who thinks he can update bios, firmware and reload Win10 without it bricking.
And somehow, everything from MS takes you in circles back to the same useless "Help".
Someone said "Windows Media Player" but I don't know if that means it's the problem, it's got a problem, it's the solution....
Sometimes answers are too terse to be meaningful.
We do have a network storage drive 4TB I think. This machine has been awesome since my son and I built it, and this is the first problem I've had, with no clue as to why it's happening.
Is it the AMD processor?
The Vid cards?
The SSD drive?
Or just something else? My laptop is a Surface and hasn't had a similar problem.

Hi there,
Finally took my computer in to be diagnosed and fixed. It all started with Windows 10 update. They said the hard drive was fried 😢
Something with Bios etc. The hard drive was probably going anyway. I’m not a computer genius. We bought a nice battery back up to hopefully save the computer etc from power outages and power surges. They said all the re-boots probably weakened an already compromised hard drive. So, 150.00 plus later...we’re ok.
We pick it up tomorrow.
