2020-02 Updates KB4524244 Locks Up My Computer and Fails Install
I received the Patch Tuesday releases today. KB4532693, KB4537759 and KB4538674 dropped in the first wave and all installed successfully. On a subsequent "Check for Updates" KB4524244 downloaded and installed but on the reboot, it rebooted the first time but froze hard on the second re-boot with Step 2 information and a frozen spinner on my screen, no keyboard or any access. After about 15 mins I finally forced the system down. On the reboot, my Secure Boot flagged me that the keys were corrupted. I was able to get those repaired and reboot into the system. I rebooted a couple more times but no updates attempted to install. On a third "Check for updates, the same (KB4524244) update attempted to download but freezes the system at 94% on the download. Again freezes hard requiring a hard re-set. I tried flushing the Software Distribution cache but get the same results.
FYI: I am running Windows defender with VBS (Credential Guard and Hypervisor enforced Code Integrity on an HP EliteDesk 705 G4 MT with a AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics. I also have a similar set up running on an HP laptop (Intel i5), but the update installed fine on it.

2020-02-28T01:25:11+00:00 Marlae,
BTW, The message above (February 27, 2020) was sent prior to the time you sent the feed on February 26, 2020. I have no clue why it took so long for you to get it. Maybe because my computer wasn't functioning properly (who knows), but my computer is fixed. My computer technician took the time to do this for me. He had all the tools and flash drive to properly fix the laptop. It has never run any better than now and all all my files are restored. Since I couldn't get the help from Microsoft I had to go to hime for help which I thought was pretty unprofessional on Microsofts part. It is shame that Microsoft didn't take the time to research my information and get back with me so the outcome would have been better. But that wasn't the case, you assumed it was all my fault. NO! So I had to spend my money to have my laptop repaired because no one would take the time to work with me. UGH!

2020-02-27T19:29:46+00:00 Microsoft did this in 2019 - releases updates that are not tested thoroughly, and then we get stuck with freezing or locked up computer. It will take them about 6 months to admit it and in the meantime everyone is running around trying fixes all over the place on their own that will not work. Nobody really knows anything here except try 101 things that never works - so that ploy is over and will not waste my time.
I am so sick of this **** - Never using Windows again, dumping it completely. I'm DONE.
