Your Phone (We can't connect to your phone)

Hey, everyone:

I was trying to link my S9 to my Windows 10 PC via the "Your Phone" app, but the process didn't work. I followed the various troubleshooting tips provided by the support but nothing helped. I connected my phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi and it refused to connect, but once I tried the same process with my Windows 10 Laptop, my Galaxy S9 connected to the laptop.

Is there any way I could get my PC and S9 to connect to one another? The process worked instantly on my laptop and the picture I attached to this thread didn't pop up on my laptop, once.

I've got Win 10 and a Samsung Galaxy S20 5G. Initially, Your Phone worked. Then for months, it stopped working. ("We can't connect to your Android device.") Then it worked for about a week. Now it's not working again.

And all the while, I've made no change in my router, or my computer, or my phone.

Has ANYONE found a solution to this problem?

    Hey there Charley,

It would help if we knew how the Your Phone app isn't working for you. If your problem is anything like mine then the problem lies somewhere in the Windows 10 app that you downloaded from the Microsoft Store (and which has been borked for a couple of months now despite the semi-regular updates since it all fell over) in as much as it can't tie into the Wi-Fi network you're currently connected to.

Daksh Patel has provided a couple of potential solutions in prior messages (just look in this thread to see them), however none of those suggested solutions have worked out for me - But who knows, your outcome may be different to mine. :)

    Regards,

    Doug

    I've been getting this message:

"We can't connect to your Android device. Check to make sure it's turned on and connected to the internet. it the problem persists, restart the Your Phone Companion app."

This morning, however, I re-downloaded the app to my phone, adjusted the settings again, and now it's working. So apparently, I had a version conflict between Windows and my phone. Dunno.

    Thanks.

    Charley

Thank you! Tried all the other solutions (stop/end app on PC and Phone, turn off/on shared experience, clear cache on phone, numerous reboots of phone and PC) to no avail. Executed your solution (actually repaired first then reset) and all is well. You are the one!
