Whilst nothing has changed since my original post in this thread, this has started to work again. It looks like there has been an update to the Your Phone software and it's fixed a lot of connection issues.
Your Phone (We can't connect to your phone)
Hey, everyone:
I was trying to link my S9 to my Windows 10 PC via the "Your Phone" app, but the process didn't work. I followed the various troubleshooting tips provided by the support but nothing helped. I connected my phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi and it refused to connect, but once I tried the same process with my Windows 10 Laptop, my Galaxy S9 connected to the laptop.
Is there any way I could get my PC and S9 to connect to one another? The process worked instantly on my laptop and the picture I attached to this thread didn't pop up on my laptop, once.

2021-02-24T22:40:56+00:00 I too have been unable to connect BOTH my Galaxy s10 AND my brand new (2 days old) Samsung Galaxy s21 Ultra 5G phones. BOTH the PC and the phones are connected to the internet, PC via direct connection to the router, the phone via WiFi. Both phones are connectable to the PC via bluetooth,
BOTH phones are running the latest version of Android (version 11) and the PC is running the latest version of Windows 10, (Incidentally the PC is less than 12 months old, i7, 32Gb memory, nVidea GTX 1060 GPU)
NOW here comes the interesting part, BOTH phones connect seamlessly to my laptop, which is connected to my router via WiFi. (Same as when I use my laptop at work, it too is connected to the router there via WiFi connection, and so is the phone)
Is the problem that the PC ISN'T connected to the internet via WiFi, as when I had an old Galaxy s7 edge, it worked with the app perfectly on the old PC i had, and that too was connected to the Internet directly via physical cable to the router.
The App shows its connected to my phone in the top left corner where the preview is located, but REFUSES point blank to show that the Your Phone app is connected, and is constantly stuck at finalizing the final connection to the phone, and the phone sdsplays the 'check your PC' screen. I have tried multiple times to re-send the request, but to no avail at all.
IF the reason is because the PC is connected directly to the internet, and not via WiFi, then I feel that this situation NEEDS to be addressed and fixed, or that it is made clear during the setup connection process that it will NOT work for a PC connected directly by cable to the router.

2020-12-20T14:35:09+00:00 In addition to this, what helped me get it working was, turning on background services for "your phone"
you can find this on your windows pc > settings > background apps >your phone > on
I'm using pocophone f1 running android 10
Thank you soooo much. Mine was connecting fine on one machine but on the other would connect for 5-10 seconds then disconnect. I spent an hour troubleshooting before finding your post about background apps on the PC which fixed it for me.
