Your Phone (We can't connect to your phone)

Hey, everyone:

I was trying to link my S9 to my Windows 10 PC via the "Your Phone" app, but the process didn't work. I followed the various troubleshooting tips provided by the support but nothing helped. I connected my phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi and it refused to connect, but once I tried the same process with my Windows 10 Laptop, my Galaxy S9 connected to the laptop.

Is there any way I could get my PC and S9 to connect to one another? The process worked instantly on my laptop and the picture I attached to this thread didn't pop up on my laptop, once.

    Just an update:

Ultimately, I couldn't figure out the problem with the "Your Phone Companion" App, but I ended up using Samsung Flow, which ended up doing the same thing! Samsung Flow paired my computer and phone together through the same Wi-Fi, so problem solved!

Thank you for trying to help me, though. I really do appreciate your efforts.

NomoreReason , I just read your post and downloaded Samsung Flow. IT WORKS!!!!!

Thanks for posting this, looks like we had the same issue but your solution has solved it, THANKS

Good to find this page and I have been through it in detail. I had done everything that it listed. I posted in the comunity forums a couple days ago but as I havent had a responce I have copied it below.

With regards to your step nine, this was done a few days ago and since then Your Phone has not worked.  I am currently windows 10 1909 as is my Dell Laptop. The Dell Laptop connects to the phone just fine.

Im confused as it did work last week before the repair install and the fact the phone still hooks up to my Laptop.

I have a Samsung S9+ and a windows 10 Desktop PC.  The PC is wired to the router (Virgin Hub 3, UK) and the S9+ was on WiFi (same notwork) and I have been using the Your Phone App over the last few weeks. ALl working, no problems.

Last week My PC developed a  couple of problems so I have just reinstalled Windows 10 (without wiping programs/apps and files.  The computer is now working fine and the issues are fixed but Your Phone is no longer working.

I also have a Dell Laptop (XPS15) and that hooks up to the S9+ perfectly right now so I'm kinda sure it's not an issue with my phone.

I can't get my PC and S9+ to work as they did a week ago. I have tried everything I can think of. When I open Your Phone on the PC it shows the Galaxy S9+ in the top left and says it "need your permission to connect and access data on your phone". No notification comes through on the phone (like it can do with my Dell laptop. Hitting resend notification gives the message " We're almost done, You've successfully signed-in on your phone. Hang tight while we finish one last thing to get your device linked.

This is as far as I can get, I have tried everything I can think of. Unlinked the PC, removed the phone from my Microsoft account and readded it. I've even used the PowerShell to uninstall the Your Phone app and reinstalled it on the PC. Focus Assist is off, notifications are on on the phone. It still links fine with my laptop though

I think the app is just allergic to my computer. Either I'm doing something wrong, or the App just doesn't want to work on my computer.

I've followed most of the steps you listed, aside from buying a new wifi-adapter, and uninstalling the Windows Updates as I wouldn't know which one caused the problem per se. My internet seems fine for the most part, aside from the app just not connecting my phone to the PC.

Thanks for trying to help me. I'll just hope that a future Windows Update fixes this issue.

Possible. I'll give you everything else that works to fix Wifi so that at least something will work. Even if you've already tried a step please try or check it again in sequence. If you need any assistance I'll be standing by here to help:

Update your network adapter drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page using the full model number, HP Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

If you have the latest network driver then try on it's Driver tab also to Roll Back, or Uninstall and then restart PC to reinstall the driver. Try also all older drivers from Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick list working backwards.

Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, select Wifi adapter, then Power Management tab, clear the check box to "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy." Then on the Advanced tab disable any energy-saving options.

If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool explained here:

    https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them.

If this was caused by Version update then you can roll it back in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool.

For Wifi won't connect after Version 1903:

    https://www.techrepublic.com/article/wi-fi-and-...

    https://pureinfotech.com/fix-wifi-problems-wind...

Enable IPv6 in the network adapter settings:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/90033-enabl...

Run the fixit from https://support.microsoft.com/help/929852 (Re-enable IPv6 on all nontunnel interfaces) and reboot.

Right click the network icon in System Tray at bottom right end of task bar to Troubleshoot Problems.

    Try all of these steps:

Fix network connection issues in Windows - Windows Help

    https://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-reset-network-...

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > WIfi > Manage Known Networks, highlight and remove the network having problems, restart PC to see if it shows up again.

Try plugging in by ethernet cable to the router to compare, then plug the ethernet cable into the modem (if separate) to see if this might be an issue with the router.

Try powering off modem, router and PC and then restarting in that order with 1 minute in between each. You may need to reset your router or even optimize it following these steps:

    https://www.lifewire.com/resetting-a-home-netwo...

    https://www.pcmag.com/article/258865/how-to-set...

Your router manual is always available from the manufacturer's website for your exact model.

You also are entitled to Support from your internet provider to get online on all devices. This is always included in the monthly bill. If your router is less than a year old they will also Support getting it connected and optimized.

Another option is you could replace the wireless adapter with an inexpensive USB nano adapter like this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/OURLiNK-600Mbps-Wireless...

If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, and is also the most stable method to advance to the latest version. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

    I hope this helps.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
