Your Phone (We can't connect to your phone)

Hey, everyone:

I was trying to link my S9 to my Windows 10 PC via the "Your Phone" app, but the process didn't work. I followed the various troubleshooting tips provided by the support but nothing helped. I connected my phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi and it refused to connect, but once I tried the same process with my Windows 10 Laptop, my Galaxy S9 connected to the laptop.

Is there any way I could get my PC and S9 to connect to one another? The process worked instantly on my laptop and the picture I attached to this thread didn't pop up on my laptop, once.

    Hey there all,

    I'm in the same boat as the OP and with so many other people on this thread that followed.  The "Your Phone" app used to work as advertised until a recent update to it from the Windows Store was installed.  Since then the app has refused to get past 60% progress (although I do get confirmation emails from Microsoft stating that my account has logged in from a new device) in the desktop app.  I have tried a completely fresh install from both the Microsoft Store and from the Google Play Store, and have installed the Android phone app on a Samsung Galaxy S9 and on a Google Pixel 4a 5G.  With each phone the Windows 10 app comes to a screeching halt at exactly the same point in the installation process, and inspecting the task manager shows that the Your Phone app is at 0% CPU activity, 0% disk activity and 0% network activity.

    At the moment, after its recent "update", the Your Phone app is a useless lump that is sorely outclassed and outperformed by pretty much everything else out there that does a similar job - regardless of how inefficiently any competitor's offering may be right now.  It least those competitors are doing something, no matter how badly...

    I've had it with this app.

    It worked yesterday after about 2 hours of tinkering. I don't even know what I did that made it work.

    This morning - doesn't work.

    I can't find "yourphonecompanion" on my S10E - just "information" - I thought I'd try uninstalling and re-installing it.

    I rate this entire app about a -10, pure garbage.

    Whilst nothing has changed since my original post in this thread, this has started to work again. It looks like there has been an update to the Your Phone software and it's fixed a lot of connection issues.

    Hi all, 

    you won't believe how I solved it!!!!

    I've a Dell laptop so I went back to Dell Mobile Connect following https://www.windowslatest.com/2018/01/15/install-dell-mobile-connect-app-windows-10/?linkId=64176106

    When I finished connecting with Dell Mobile Connect, My Phone Connection appeared at 90% connection (I was stuck at 60%). So, from my mobile I tried to connect again to following the wizard and failed again at 60% but when closed and opened again it worked only asking for permissions. Unbelievable!!

    I don't understand how My phone can fail on the easiest part when Samsung Flow o Dell Mobile Connect do it easily.

    Ask me for details if you need so.

    In my case I had it working with my S9 until I discovered that there were no updates on pictures, messages, ...

    I unlinked it and from that moment I got stuck in the connection problem. 

    I've tried all the troubleshooting links and ideas, but nothing worked..
