Your Phone (We can't connect to your phone)

Hey, everyone:

I was trying to link my S9 to my Windows 10 PC via the "Your Phone" app, but the process didn't work. I followed the various troubleshooting tips provided by the support but nothing helped. I connected my phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi and it refused to connect, but once I tried the same process with my Windows 10 Laptop, my Galaxy S9 connected to the laptop.

Is there any way I could get my PC and S9 to connect to one another? The process worked instantly on my laptop and the picture I attached to this thread didn't pop up on my laptop, once.

I found the fix to this.

    Click START button, then Settings.

    Select SHARED EXPERIENCES

Enable NEARBY SHARING  (My Devices Only)

Enable SHARE ACROSS DEVICES  (My Devices Only)

I think the app is just allergic to my computer. Either I'm doing something wrong, or the App just doesn't want to work on my computer.

I've followed most of the steps you listed, aside from buying a new wifi-adapter, and uninstalling the Windows Updates as I wouldn't know which one caused the problem per se. My internet seems fine for the most part, aside from the app just not connecting my phone to the PC.

Thanks for trying to help me. I'll just hope that a future Windows Update fixes this issue.

I appreciate you trying to help me. I've tried steps 1 through 6 so far with no luck so far.

I'll have to try running the remaining steps when I get the chance during the weekend.

Out of curiosity, I used my laptop for a mobile hotspot, then connected both my PC and S9 to the hotspot, but my PC still wouldn't connect to the phone. After I switched back to my normal internet setup, I tried the app on my laptop and the app instantly connected my phone and laptop. Then, on my computer, I ran the Internet Connection troubleshooter and found that "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings."  I ran the same troubleshooter on my laptop and didn't get anything.

Do you think that the network proxy settings might be the issue?
