How is it a Microsoft (software) update s interferring with a BIOS POST test in bootup? Windows has nothing to do with your BIOS ... That's more of a hardware issue and just happens to be a coincidence. I'm no Microsoft fan at all really, but I wouldn't be so quick to blame Windows on a hardware problem.
I've recently noticed a similar problem and nobody can figure it out. I can access everything but when I attempt to access any Microsoft applications word,office, anything like that is just awfully slow any ideas?
From your post you blamed microsoft, I was just stating that you need to learn about the hardware as it was not the update that caused the failure and way off the mark in what you did to try to fix it. Not snarky just a fact. ?
I do NOT have a hardware problem--you're not tracking the thread correctly. It is possible that Windows has a compatibility problem with my hardware, which is a very different problem. In fact, many other posts document how certain updates are having troubles with HP machines running various RYZON chips. My machine, since I rolled back the last application updates is FINE!
Someone else is having a hardware problem since their machine is failing the BIOS POST.
I get tired of people who never, ever, no matter what will concede they may be wrong about something.
Have you checked your hard drive to see if it's nearly full? It's just a thought.
