Just a note here.
This lovely "important security and quality fix (KB4532693) has downloaded with no problem but has now stalled at 44% of installation.
I guess this is yet another problem I will have to deal with.
Thank you Bill Gates and Company.

JeffSchafer,
I had followed those same instructions before I found this thread so I just looked over them when I saw them here.
I have not been able to find KB4524244 on my computer so I I had no idea what to do.
After following your instructions I did find an update 2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4532693), that was not there before and is being installed as I type.
Perhaps that will solve my problems. I will make another post here after installation is complete and I have time to see if everything is working as it should.
Thanks,
Clyde
I would expect that if you are able to "back out the updates", you would know which Updates you are uninstalling.

To uninstall an Update, you can follow the steps I listed above. I'll list them again without the "Quality Updates" step:
In Windows 10 to see the Updates:
OR
Press & hold the Windows button & press R.
Run: ms-settings:windowsupdate
NOTE: Some Updates won't have this option. There is a way to get around it, but you can't guaranty that it won't screw the machine up more. These aren't meant to be uninstalled, so they disable the uninstall option for these Updates.
AMDThorRig,
I have no idea how to "back out the updates so for one I would appreciate it very much if you would please give step by step instructions to do exactly what you did,
I only "upgraded", if you can even call it that. to Windows 10 last week and I have had problems ever since, even after spending almost 2 hours on the phone Microsoft Level 2 Support TWICE. If I can't find a way to get 10 to settle down and work at leas half as good as 7 did I am going to buy a Mac,
Clyde
Because when I backed out "Quality updates" I still got the black screen. When I backed out the "Application Updates" Windows came back.
It's not hard to understand.
