Looking through the forum I have noticed that many others have had this problem!

Two days ago a popup gave me a warning about space management that was being switched on.

Surprised at this I checked my C:\ drive to see what was going on and it was nearly full. On double clicking my C:\ drive I noticed a strange file entitled UKLog.dat, that was increasing in size as I was watching it.

I ran AVG Antivirus to scan the whole computer, and nothing was found. I also ran Malwarebytes premium checking for Rootkits and again nothing was found.

I then restarted my PC in safe mode and was able to delete it without any ill effects. But directly I restarted in normal mode, it was back eating up space.

I have tried deleting programs to see if I can find the offending program, but as yet no luck.

To add to the mystery,the first time I noticed it, I double clicked the file and PhotoDirector 8 opened up, so I deleted that program thinking that may be the cause. but no I still haven't found where its from.

Please does anyone have any suggestions?

Yardımın için çok teşekkürler. Uklog. dat dosyası çeşitli anti virüs ve Malwarebytes çalıştırdıktan sonra bilgisayarımdan gitti. Hangisinin dosyayı temizlediğini gerçekten bilmiyorum ama şimdi gitti. Yardımınız için tekrar teşekkür ederim. ve İngiltere ve kendimden en iyi dileklerimle.

    I dont know what program created this file, I have deleted several that I no longer use thinking one of them may be the culprit, but the file is still there! I just go in and delete it every morning, only to see it reappear seconds later.

    But at least it does seem to empty it before starting to collect info again from somewhere.

    Notepad doesnt seem to give away much info other that a load of gobblygook! lol

    I carried out the operation exactly as you said, and yes I was asked did i wish to delete the file I typed in "Y" and the screen confimed the deletion.

    But when I restarted and checked the C: drive it was back again, loading up more information from wherever.

    I really don't know where to go from here.

    I have another PC running the same Windows 10 with a lot of the same programs loaded but that machine remains unaffected.

    Thank you for your reply. The problem I have is that every time I delete the uklog.dat file it reloads within seconds and starts eating drive space up again.

    I have no idea where the data is coming from but this file is like a magnet and drawing it in from somewhere. It's almost like something in the windows registry is enabling this file to start loading at start-up. But I just don't know where to look.
