Your phone app - Bluetooth is connected but can't hear calls

Hey,

I am trying to make calls trough my PC.

I have problem with connecting the audio when having a call to my PC nevertheless with my Android phone there is Bluetooth connection.

  1. I am able to make and receive calls but the audio does not come through my headphones. Even if I try to toggle (Off) the "Use phone" option in the call window it reverts back turning it on within a second. (not a bit of audio for the second too).

When I do it I receive error message "Can't make the call. Make sure your device is connected to Bluetooth, then try the call again.",  as depicted in the image below.

  1. I tried switching the audio on my phone to the laptop (Bluetooth) it also reverts back within a second.
  2. When receiving an incoming call I get a similar error message "Can't receive call audio on this this device. Accept on phone instead" , I added a screenshot of the error below

I already tried to unpair the Bluetooth connection and setup again the connection trough your phone app, but still didn't work

Restarted both PC and my Android phone, didn't help.

Is there a solution for this?

Note: This is not a sound issue.

    Hi ItayLev,

Got it, thanks. Have you tried "Unlinking your phone and PC" from the 3rd link previously sent?

It's possible that it's a bug, but before we conclude let's try these troubleshooting steps below.

    1. Try to repair the app.
Go to Start > Settings > Apps > search "Your Phone" > click "Advanced options" > scroll down & click "Repair" button. Reboot your PC & test if the issue persists.
    2. If that won't work, then try to reset the app.
Go to Start > Settings > Apps > search "Your Phone" > click "Advanced options" > scroll down & click "Reset" button. Reboot your PC, re-link your PC & phone, then test if the issue persists.
    3. If that won't work, then let re-installing the app.
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC keys > click File > click Run new task > type PowerShell & check the "Create this task with administrative privileges" checkbox > copy/paste the following command below. Reboot your PC & visit Microsoft Store & search "Your Phone" to install it again.
      Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.YourPhone* -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
(Note: Please also re-install the mobile app, reboot your phone, set up the app again.)

I hope this helps. Let me know how you go. Thank you!

    Sincerely,
    Paul A.

Paul, Thanks for you recommendation. I was having the same problem of not being able to hear with my headset and the Repair option fixed the problem.

The Samsung S20 and "your Phone" through some updates finally started working. As of now I do not need the Bluetooth Audio Receiver app for phone calls anymore, I only need that now for playing media. Samsung and Microsoft corrected the issue during an update that happened in Late December Early January.

Hi, just with the high end phones, or mid range too? I have an A71 with the buds pro, still no work...is easier to swap, but no seemless.

Good to hear someone is working.

    Hello there,

well not sure but I have similar problem to the mentioned.

I have Lenovo ThinkBook G2 ITL laptop with Your phone app installed.

Then I have Samsung Note 20 5G connected via mentioned app to Laptop and

I have Samsung earbuds Live connected to the phone.

Wenn I want to make a call and hear/talk via earbuds, I can do it two ways:

    1. open the "Phone screen" in Your phone app on Laptop and then as usually doing call on Phone app as shown below, dialing or choosing contact. Then from there while making call click to change the source of the voice to my Earbuds if it is´t choosed automatically.  Then it works.

Also to make a call on Win 10 I must disable Focus assist in order to make calls.

    1. Dial directly on the phone.

Notification about ongoing call is shown on Laptop´s screen.

Doing calls by dialing from "Calls" in Your phone app on Laptop doesn´t work with earbuds and the sound is always in phone only.

Receiving calls is normal and while my earbuds are connected I can hear and talk over them. Without any problems.

I hope this could help someone.
