How do I unistall the Microsoft Edge "Update"

How do I uninstall the Microsoft Edge "Update" on my computer?  I accidentally installed it and I don't even use Microsoft Edge.  I know I can't uninstall Microsoft Edge, but hopefully I can at least uninstall the Update.  It really, really stinks Microsoft forces people to have Edge on their computer because it just takes up storage space, slows your computer down and the browser tracks your surfing history.

    "uninstall" is greyed out - we cannot uninstall: that's the problem! :-( If you managed it better hope your computer doesn't auto-update you with an undeletable version. I still can't do my work to the standard I previously could, using the original Edge as an editor of PDFs. 

    I couldn't figure out how to uninstall the update either so I stopped using Microsoft Edge altogether and went back to my old browser which is working fine for what I needed to do. I understand that they updated it because licenses will be terminated for Adobe Flash at the end of 2020 BUT that's almost a half year from now!! They should have eased folks into the transition instead of forcing users to do it right now or else. They will lose a lot of users now. Shameful.

    sorry but if it came as an update you are stuck with it so in future you should make that clear rather then just telling people to try and uninstall it.

    the unistall button is gray, can't unistall. is there any other way? I really need this off, it is not working for me.

    C:\Windows\SystemApps. Look for Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe folder. Add any random symbol to the end of that name. This will disable it. You can't uninstall it.

    But will disabling the new version give us Legacy Edge back? :-) I need Edge back so I can write neatly again - nothing seems to work properly with pdf files and the Surface Pro pen. My recent work looks like I wrote it on a bus on a bumpy road and that's entirely due to the software inadequacies.

    It's a strange use of a web browser, perhaps - freehand PDF editing - but that's what I bought this computer for! That's what I do and what I need to do!! I can't understand why there doesn't seem to be a decent tool designed for this job.
