Lenovo Ideapad S340: Integrated Camera not working after trying F8, LEnovo Vantage and Device Manager changes
Hi community. After reading some members having similar issue, I have tried some of the suggested fixes, such as activating camera through F8 (nothing happened), Checking Privacy and Permissions setting in Lenovo Vantage app (all ok), and also in Device Manager I tried Updating Drivers, Disabling/Enabling camera, Un-installing and Re-installing camera.
I have then removed Lenovo Vantage app.
No success. I tried the camera app and Skype, and still getting just a black screen instead of the camera view.
Appreciate any help with this issue.

2020-12-27T18:23:13+00:00 Many many thanks!! In the end it turned out to be a physical problem. Just pressing around the camera solved, but I will try opening it and checking for loose connections.

2021-01-06T07:54:57+00:00 I've got the same problem. Already Updated the drivers do the F keys and still doesnt work. But sometimes as time goes on it works but there is a time it doesnt and an error message appears. I wonder if this is a hardware issue because im tired of the cycle.

2021-01-08T02:10:51+00:00 My camera also stopped working. It was just a black screen even though it was working fine 1-2 weeks ago.
I tried some of the fixes presented, none worked. W
When I updated my BIOS, this fixed my camera problem!
Here are the steps:
- Go to support.lenovo.com
- Scroll down to the bottom and under "Support" select "Drivers & Software"
- Enter your serial number (you can find this under Lenovo Vantage - Device - Device Details)
- Details come up in terms of running a diagnostic. Run the diagnostic.
- Then, based on those results, suggestions are offered for updating your system.
- Honestly, I just followed along.
- After my system was checked for drivers, etc. the diagnostic tool came back suggesting to update the BIOS.
- I agreed and started the process (about 10-15 minutes).
- Then I did a reboot and tested the camera.
- It worked!
Hope this helps you to get your camera working again.
Best wishes.
