Lenovo Ideapad S340: Integrated Camera not working after trying F8, LEnovo Vantage and Device Manager changes
Hi community. After reading some members having similar issue, I have tried some of the suggested fixes, such as activating camera through F8 (nothing happened), Checking Privacy and Permissions setting in Lenovo Vantage app (all ok), and also in Device Manager I tried Updating Drivers, Disabling/Enabling camera, Un-installing and Re-installing camera.
I have then removed Lenovo Vantage app.
No success. I tried the camera app and Skype, and still getting just a black screen instead of the camera view.
Appreciate any help with this issue.

2021-03-03T01:59:28+00:00 Mine turned out to be a similar issue and I had forgotten to post. There is a switch that goes over the camera and I must have inadvertently turned turned off. During a Windows update it did stop working again, but I went to Lenovo Vantage and found the Camera & Display setting and turned off the Camera Privacy Mode, which I hope I don't have to do everything there is an update.

2021-03-03T00:32:49+00:00 So I have had same issues as everyone posted and have tried to fix using all methods mentioned.
What I believe, is that it is a hardware issue.
I read someone had loose cables in their built-in camera. They pressed on the camera or area around camera gently and it turned on.
I turned on camera and got the no hardware detected fault code. I pressed gently around my camera and the white light turned on and so did my camera. It must have come loose from opening and closing laptop maybe grabbing it from near camera.
This solved my issues, hope this helps.

2021-03-02T22:24:47+00:00 HI all,
I had/have the same issues. Updating the drivers worked for a week and then caput again. Updating Windows and all that didn't work after that either. BUT pressing to the left of the camera turns it on! I suspected this may have been the case but didn't know where to look. Unfortunately, my warranty expired last month so I guess I will be using a mini clamp instead....
Thanks Sanjeev!

2021-02-22T16:20:53+00:00 Hi everyone,
having the same problem, and after trying everything @travelingool details, it seemed that each fix I tried, solved the problem, but just for a few hours or days. I resigned and bought a usb webcam. No more problems.
Evidently it´s a hardware bug.
Good luck and thanks everyone.
