Did EVERY GD thing and finally - the resolution was the BIOS update. Camera is now working. Lenovo is Chinese junk.

Hi community. After reading some members having similar issue, I have tried some of the suggested fixes, such as activating camera through F8 (nothing happened), Checking Privacy and Permissions setting in Lenovo Vantage app (all ok), and also in Device Manager I tried Updating Drivers, Disabling/Enabling camera, Un-installing and Re-installing camera.
I have then removed Lenovo Vantage app.
No success. I tried the camera app and Skype, and still getting just a black screen instead of the camera view.
Appreciate any help with this issue.

By the way, this is the third time the camera goes black with my S340. The first time it was in 2020 and got fixed at a microcenter under lenovo warranty. Second time was early 2021 and it was sent back to lenovo for repair, came back and it was working fine. this is the third time it fails. it seems like a light tries to light on, but very weak, and goes on and off periodically.
has anyone been able to get a replacement due to a repeating failure like this? i am tired of sending this laptop back and forth to lenovo maintenance. so far, the mainboard fried, wrong amount of ram installed (overall been to service for 2 times for those 2 incidents), and been to service another 2 times for camera failure. Absolutely disgusted...
I totally agree with you. Very annoying; however, after installing Windows 11, the camera issue stopped.

i really wanna thank to you and all the people who contributed here their suggestions!
i was also having exact the same isssue with my Lenovo S340 14 Laptop for two three days, i tried everything like everything, but no success. i uninstalled the integrated camera driver und reinstalled it, F8 button was on, it was allowed by windows security to turn camera on, windows update was latest, Lenovo Vantage wasnt helpfull in my case, cause, usually if you go into Lenovo Vantage , you will see there audio and camera functions in settings but in my case if i went into the app, the camera function was just gone, it disappeared, i also un and reinstalled the lenovo Vantage so that it will be fixed, but it was not. and i did many other things with wondows system and i couldnt fix it, and i called support team and they also couldnt.
after reading your valuable suggestions, i finally fixed it, what i did is just unistalled the latest driver suggested by windows and installed the old one from 2019 which you left here as a link, thanks a lot!
