Lenovo Ideapad S340: Integrated Camera not working after trying F8, LEnovo Vantage and Device Manager changes

Hi community. After reading some members having similar issue, I have tried some of the suggested fixes, such as activating camera through F8 (nothing happened), Checking Privacy and Permissions setting in Lenovo Vantage app (all ok), and also in Device Manager I tried Updating Drivers, Disabling/Enabling camera, Un-installing and Re-installing camera.

I have then removed Lenovo Vantage app.

No success. I tried the camera app and Skype, and still getting just a black screen instead of the camera view.

Appreciate any help with this issue.

OMG!  Thanks for the tip about the Push/open button on the camera!  Had no clue.  My camera was on but black.  Now I know why!

...on a hunch I simple pressed the screen bezels gently on the sides of the camera and behold the camera started working immediately !!!!

After a few minutes the camera again went blink and I just pressed again......and it started working again..!!!!!

It seems the issue is simply of improperly mounted camera hardware and/or poor quality hardware by Lenovo. Its possible that they are aware of this as so many customers are facing this issue and looking by this, they should order a product recall / refit at their expense as many customers may be out of warranty now but are facing an issue due to poor hardware integration by Lenovo.

BRAVO..!!! This worked for me. Poorly mounted camera is what looks like the root cause here. The moment I pressed around the camera on the bezel the camera turned on but the image had lot of disturbance so pressed around the camera a few more times and it now works like a charm. Thanks a lot.
