Lenovo Ideapad S340: Integrated Camera not working after trying F8, LEnovo Vantage and Device Manager changes

Hi community. After reading some members having similar issue, I have tried some of the suggested fixes, such as activating camera through F8 (nothing happened), Checking Privacy and Permissions setting in Lenovo Vantage app (all ok), and also in Device Manager I tried Updating Drivers, Disabling/Enabling camera, Un-installing and Re-installing camera.

I have then removed Lenovo Vantage app.

No success. I tried the camera app and Skype, and still getting just a black screen instead of the camera view.

Appreciate any help with this issue.

My camera also stopped working. It was just a black screen even though it was working fine 1-2 weeks ago.

I tried some of the fixes presented, none worked. W

When I updated my BIOS, this fixed my camera problem!

    Here are the steps:

    1. Go to support.lenovo.com
    2. Scroll down to the bottom and under "Support" select "Drivers & Software"
    3. Enter your serial number (you can find this under Lenovo Vantage - Device - Device Details)
    4. Details come up in terms of running a diagnostic. Run the diagnostic.
    5. Then, based on those results, suggestions are offered for updating your system.
    6. Honestly, I just followed along.
    7. After my system was checked for drivers, etc. the diagnostic tool came back suggesting to update the BIOS.
    8. I agreed and started the process (about 10-15 minutes).
    9. Then I did a reboot and tested the camera.
    10. It worked!

Hope this helps you to get your camera working again.

    Best wishes.

You did look into Windows privacy settings, if the camera is allowed in the app you want to use?

    If it help:

Install the SW from lenovo and update all your system drivers in one click:

    https://support.lenovo.com/ru/en/downloads/ds012808

You can detect your product with 100% result by using Lenovo APP on the same page

    Detect Product

Some  devices require other drivers that was not installed in your system yet.

If it still  goes wrong with your camera:

Please try to install USB Video Camera driver manually - this is standard driver provided by Microsoft.

With this driver you will get less settings and poor image quality but it will run your camera in many applications from Microsoft store.

Let me know please if it not help.
