Levels in FreeCell???

Very comprehensive explanation that answered one of my previous questions about scoring. But can you think of simple reason Microsoft chose to use 5250 games per level instead of a more easily divisible number, like 5000? I started in Expert mode when I began using Freecell on the Microsoft Games platform and I have never lost a game, so I earn 1000 points per game in normal mode or 2000 points when the Bonus games show up, which is about once a month on Fridays. One statistic I would really appreciate, is if the Microsoft showed the average points your earning per game. Because of the Bonus games I have played, I am earning an average of 1043 points per game. This means I have to play six games to go up one level. But if I had the time to play more Bonus games, I could raise my average to 1050 so I could go up a level playing only 5 games instead of 6. So based on your math and my game play frequency, it will take me until sometime next year to get to the Gold Grandmaster 1 level. Alas....

The lowest number evenly divisible by 300, 500, 700, and 1000 is 21,000. When you divide 21,000 by 4 the quotient is exactly 5250. If you start at zero, you will always zero out again after 4 levels as long as you don't change the difficulty.

Number of games needed to complete 4 levels (21,000 XP) with no remainder.

Expert: 21 games

Hard: 30 games

Medium: 42 games

Easy: 70 games

Eg., to complete the 1st level at expert difficulty you'll need to play 6 games. After 6 games (6000 XP) you will have completed 1 level (5250 XP) + 750 remaining XP  which is applied toward level 2.  For the second level you will only need to play 5 games since you have the 750 XP carryover from level 1 (5750 - 5250).  After the 2nd level you will have 500 XP carryover toward completion of the 3rd level. The third level will require another 5 games and you'll have 250 XP carryover (5500 - 5250). For the fourth level you'll need to complete 5 games  (5000 XP) and with the 250 XP carryover from level 3 you will return to the zero point with no more carryover. The total number of games required was 6 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 21.

If you think of freecell in blocks of 4 levels then the 5250 XP requirement for each level makes more sense.

I am so blown away that you have mathematically figured all this out and I REALLY appreciate that you went to the trouble to share all that. And you did such a good job of explaining it. I totally understand it now - you have explained the Microsoft scoring matrix completely. If you hadn't just done so above, my next question was going to ask about the carryover points.

This Microsoft Freecell Community should provide a Scoring link using what you have just explained somewhere at the top of the page as an official reference to all that are curious.

There are 300 levels in that version of Freecell . . .

I' m on level 2015 and the title is Gold Grandmaster 324.

I do not know when this end. Title increasing every 5 games.

A game takes 4-5 deals only to complete a circle.

Thanks for showing that you got to level 2,015, so I quit at level 660 Gold Gmaster53. At expert it's just the same games over & over. I started playing this way even though MS does not support it. #1 through #150 at present all the cards at the bottom till last move. 27 games I couldn't solve
