Before installing this update, you would be offered KB4538674 which is the latest servicing stack update. If one wants to install the cumulative update manually, installing KB4538674 is strongly recommended.

Additional Information for users hitting temporary profile issue on 21/02/2020:

Microsoft is aware of some customers logging into temporary profile after installing KB4532693, on both versions 1903 and 1909.

  • Rebooting into Safe Mode* and then starting back in normal Mode should resolve this issue for most customers.
  • You may uninstall any secure banking software or anti-virus in the temporary profile which may resolve this if the above steps do not help.

*To boot into Safe mode, Click Shift+Restart button on the login screen, select Advanced options>Startup Settings>Select 1 for the booting to safe mode. Restarting the computer should start the computer in normal mode. For booting into Safe mode, you would be asked for a password instead of a PIN if you have set.

    Just adding another lament to this disaster.

    Shortly after returning from a two months absence and updating my Win10 (Miix700) laptop, it became unusable... apps unresponsive and freezing, to the point where I stopped trying to diagnose the cause(s) and elected to do a "windows reset"

    Despite the microsoft promise that all user files would be retained, everything except the desktop icons were gonewhen the reset was finished.

    Fortunately, in my case, I had a full backup of all of my user files.  I'm trying to look at the positive side of this "happening" in that it has forced me to make a clean start on as minimal a Win10 platform as possible... (no easy task there either)

    During the cleanup after the reset, I found a folder named "windows.old..." that was completely empty.

    Just a caution for anyone facing the same decision... don't do it without a full backup, including backing up configuration files for installed software.  I have one big question remaining, but, will post that in a new thread.

    Hi I just purchased a Surface Go to replace my previous HP Notebook which froze, crashed and stopped working following the latest update to Windows.

    As the latest cumulative update (KB4532691) is lined up for installation on the new device and the device is scheduled to restart I am wondering if it is still safe to install this update? I f not, how would I pause the installation of this update?

    This issue has just set me back by CAD $1000 and I don't want yet another non -functioning laptop on my hand?
