Changelog for Cumulative updates released on Feb 11th 2020 are as under:

Before installing this update, you would be offered KB4538674 which is the latest servicing stack update. If one wants to install the cumulative update manually, installing KB4538674 is strongly recommended.

Additional Information for users hitting temporary profile issue on 21/02/2020:

Microsoft is aware of some customers logging into temporary profile after installing KB4532693, on both versions 1903 and 1909.

  • Rebooting into Safe Mode* and then starting back in normal Mode should resolve this issue for most customers.
  • You may uninstall any secure banking software or anti-virus in the temporary profile which may resolve this if the above steps do not help.

*To boot into Safe mode, Click Shift+Restart button on the login screen, select Advanced options>Startup Settings>Select 1 for the booting to safe mode. Restarting the computer should start the computer in normal mode. For booting into Safe mode, you would be asked for a password instead of a PIN if you have set.

    My Surface Pro 4 touchscreen and touchpad on Type Cover stopped working properly after downloading these lastest updates.  They would work for approx 10 seconds after restart until a transparent semi circle or square would appear at the edge of the screen and then they would stop working and cursor would disappear.

    After reading on this forum I uninstalled KB4532693 and froze updates for 7 days and now screen and touchpad appear to be working as usual.

    I am not tech savvy and this has taken me a day or so to resolve.  Not happy.

    EDIT TO UPDATE: Sorry, this didnt fix. After a "sleep" it started to do this again.  I have now removed all the updates that I could remove, and will see how it goes.  It's currently working but hasnt gone to "sleep" again.

    Hello.  Sorry to post a random question here, but a bit new at this.  Just installed the latest Feb 2020 Windows 10 updates.  Upon completion it appears to have reset the display to default windows system.  That is, all custom icons missing, background returned to windows logo, would not recognise my logon, set a temp logon.

    I had to uninstall the latest updates to return to previous good operation and display.  Any ideas?  FYI.  Two of my neighbors had the same issue and we had to uninstall this update.

    These folks are very good at problems and resolutions.  Read this link, however their suggestions are mostly what you just tried.

    This is the OS up date that appears to have caused many issues.  You have the same version of windows that I have, but my issues was not failure to install but loss of icons, profile and custom backgrounds, etc.

    Uninstall to previous update was my only work around.

    I see you have paused updates for 7 days.  That is the least amount of days I would halt until something is posted.  A gentleman previously posted googling "stopupdates10" and install which stops updates until 2099.  Might be a very good idea if you do not hear of any fixes or forget to postpone future updates.  I placed an icon on my desktop for stopupdates10 to remind me to remove if I see any corrections.

    FYI.  I am now doing a full disk/partition backup to a USB disk.  Make a bootable USB or CD to aid in recovery.  Whatever package you select will offer this.  If another update is not recoverable, as some have indicated, I can at least reload a previous disk image.

    Hey Delos you've come this far...why quit the smokes ? Its plain torture babe! Not a day goes by that i don't want a smoke and it has been 9 years for me. I deliberately walk through a cloud of cig smoke just to inhale its glorious aroma. I watched a doc featuring Gordon Lightfoot puffing away before going on stage...and he's 82 !  To each his own i guess. As for the topic, i think the fly in the ointment is various Anti virus programs !! My brothers update went fine and he runs Kapersky whereas I run BitDefender.
