my camera is in black and white. How do I change it to color?

After playing around with drivers and camera settings for months, a Lenovo Legion support person finally solved this exact same issue for me. 

Open a third-party app that uses your camera, like Skype or Zoom (we used Skype). In settings, you'll find an "enable colour" toggle switch. Pressing that magically fixed my camera on all other apps. 

For some reason the factory settings for the webcam Lenovo used in my machine and many others (I have a 15" Legion) have it set to black and white only, and there is no "colour enable" option in windows settings or in the windows camera app.

Thanks DCShupe, that advice actually fixed my camera as well.

So, Microsoft engineers should put a bit more attention in the next iteration of the Camera App. I'm pretty sure that the lack of control settings in that App is what led to this problem from the start.

I would suggest send the computer back to Lenovo, as the Operating system might got corrupted or the hardware driver itself is damaged.

It happens on other apps such as Skype and a group meeting site.  I updated the driver and also tried to do a factory reset but the computer said that there was a problem and couldn't do a factory reset.  At this point, I don't know what else to do.  Thank you for any help.

Today, when I turned on my computer, there was a message of an update to windows 10.  The update was done and it rebooted my laptop.  Lo and behold, now my camera works in color.  I didn't do anything and now it works.  To all with the same problem, download the updated windows 10 and maybe your camera will work again in color.  Good luck and let me know if it did.  Thanks to all who tried to help me.
