    Hi..  I had the same problem after installing Windows 10 2004 update..

    I did all the suggestions above without success..  Then I went to device manager, camera, properties and selected to rollback camera driver, then rebooted the PC and the issue was fixed.  It seems the new 2004 driver has an issue.

    The solution that worked for my Lenovo laptop black and white webcam issue on all apps was one that was suggested here about going into Skype (I used the preinstalled Skype for Personal Use) and during the setup, I went to:

    Skype > Sign in > Webcam Settings > [Under Video Proc Amp tab] ensure ColorEnable is checkmarked > Click OK

    My webcam was suddenly in color in all of my other apps including Zoom, Lenovo Vantage, and Camera App.

    Unsure as to why this worked, but I will stop questioning it. For reference, I did use some some open source webcam solutions like OBS and a test-taking browser called Lockdown Browser which may have changed my settings with no way to change them back. 

    I have face to face meetings through Skype and a black and white image seemed unprofessional to me. I might share this with the people over at the Lenovo forums as well.

    Does it only happen with you are using the Camera app or does it also happen on other application like Facebook messenger in Google Chrome?

    Again.  I appreciate your help.  I did that and the web camera is still on black and white with no color.  Do you think the camera is broken?  It's a relatively new laptop and under warranty.  Should I return it to Lenovo for repair or is there one more try to get color?

    I tried everything with Lenovo and nothing worked.  They had access to my computer and nothing worked  We changed the driver and that didn't work.  They told me to put the computer back to factory setting.  I tried that but the machine would stop in the middle with an error message and said it couldn't go back to factory setting.  Luckily, I am under warranty and they told me to send it back for them to fix it.  Unfortunately, my answer is, I am going to live with a black and white camera.  I have no patience in sending it back and staying x number of days without my laptop.  I'm sorry I have no satisfactory answer to help you.
