Of course, that makes sense.
Thanks.

Hello, Insiders! We’re releasing an important update for Microsoft Groove to the Store just for you! Version 3.6.1886.0 of the Groove app will be available later today. We can’t wait to hear what you think about it.
So what’s in this update? Groove is now truly universal on Windows 10 across mobile and PC. The build you’ve been using on mobile is now the same build you’ll get on PC going forward. For those of you who’ve asked if the PC version of Groove would ever get features like gapless playback, today’s the day! We are very proud of this milestone and look forward to the increased velocity this change will bring as we work down our backlog.
This update represents another first for us – we’re publishing the update for Insiders before sending it to the Store for everyone. We’re flexing the app flighting rings for the first time and plan to push out today’s update as follows:
Here’s what we’ve added to the universal app since the last update:
We’re tracking below known issues that will be fixed in a future OS flight:
Thank you so much for all the feedback you’ve provided. We sincerely appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to work together to make Groove great. See ya in the Feedback Hub!

Of course, that makes sense.
Thanks.
There is new APIs and functions in Redstone that are not available in the current build is what they said about other apps getting updates in the fast ring (mail)
Why is it couplet to using the Fast Ring OS preview? Are there plans to make it available for Slow and Release Preview?
And aren't there separate beta programs for apps coming? I really hope Groove will participate :-)
Apart from that: Very nice. Perhaps the Groove team could make a blogpost about what they coded for Mobile and desktop separately and how they managed to make the code universal? That look behind the curtains would be very interesting for other developers :-)
Agree with this. I have a stereo located in the basement with network features to play all over the house. I would love to able to use groove on my phone and cast to this via DLNA. If not this then get Groove on 3rd party devices that I can access through my receivers app like Spotify. Come on Microsoft - I'm getting tired of half baked products and services.
Honestly I wish we could cast to our PCs, i.e. use Groove on our phone as a way to "remote control" Groove on the PC.
If your receiver or pre-amp has a front HDMI and USB, you can use a Wireless Display Adapter to stream from your phone. Another alternative is a bluetooth receiver; those can connect with S/PDIF or a S/PDIF-to-RCA connector.
