I just got minecraft for windows 10 yesterday, and i try to log in to collect the items in my starter pack. Every time i click to log in though, there's an error message that pops up saying "Failed to login. We tried to sign you into your microsoft account, but something went wrong." and there's a "close" button at the bottom. I just want a way to sign in so that i can get my stuff. Also, would i be able to sign in with an account that didn't buy the game? Or is it mine now and i can sign in with whatever account? Thank you for your help :))

The best option is to install the xbox game companion app from the Microsoft store: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/xbox-console-companion/9wzdncrfjbd8?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
Also install the xbox games app: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-windows-10
This will give you visibility into any account problems, and are necessary for playing Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
i did this multiple times step by step exactly how you say and the same thing happened i just want to play minecraft dammit this is the only game i have time to play and im getting screwed over because when i open it it asks me if i want to sign in for free except when i click the sign in for free button it just disappears and the hotfixes pop u, which include the very problem i have but its a f*cking lie, and when i try to click the sign in button on the main screen it has the error message that is supposed to be fixed. I've reset and reinstalled everything and my computer is completely up to date. While im on the topic my xbox 360 is still broken and i never heard back from my support team who said they would have it fixed a year ago.
On PC, I could not successfully login to my Microsoft account from the Minecraft start page with any of the Xbox apps uninstalled or disabled. I used a de-bloater and it wiped the annoying Xbox game bar and others, but it seems the ability to transfer my credentials to the game was lost with them. Downloading everything from the Xbox beta installer was the quick fix.
I just got the game and when i try to login it logs in for a brief second and then the game closes when i open the app again it just loads and it closes please help
This is my first time and i have bought this game since 15 days ago, but until now i cannot play it, because of "microsoft account problem" while it's been checked by the team support there's nothing wrong.. its very anoying and NO RESOLUTION AT ALL..
ALL THE email fix NOTHING...
so im hopeless with buying another game.
