Cannot print since latest Windows 10 update
Hi there,
One of our users can no longer print since her laptop got the most recent Windows 10 updates (her laptop is up-to-date as of this morning).
One of three things happens when she tries to print:
-- The application shows all the installed printers in the drop-down, but when she clicks print, nothing happens
-- The application shows all the installed printers in the drop-down, but when she clicks print, she gets an error saying there are no printers installed
-- The application does not show any printers
The printers are all showing in control panel.
It is not even possible to print to PDF.
I have tried restarting the print spooler service in services.msc but that hasn't helped.
Any advice?
Best
Paul

2019-10-14T08:37:51+00:00 Hi all & Microsoft,
Re-posting to my original question:
I paused updates for 7 days and removed the update KB4524147.
What will happen if the latest Windows updates are installed after the 7-day pause? Is there now a solution in place?
Thanks,
Paul

KB4517389 apparently fixes the printer issue.
- Addresses an issue with applications and printer drivers that utilize the Windows JavaScript engine (jscript.dll) for processing print jobs.
You may check for updates and install the same.

2019-10-14T09:16:39+00:00 Thanks Sumit.... do you know if anyone has tested it and confirmed it successfully solves the problem? Not sure I want to risk installing it until we're sure it works...
