Cannot print since latest Windows 10 update

Hi there,

One of our users can no longer print since her laptop got the most recent Windows 10 updates (her laptop is up-to-date as of this morning).

One of three things happens when she tries to print:

-- The application shows all the installed printers in the drop-down, but when she clicks print, nothing happens

-- The application shows all the installed printers in the drop-down, but when she clicks print, she gets an error saying there are no printers installed

-- The application does not show any printers

The printers are all showing in control panel.

It is not even possible to print to PDF.

I have tried restarting the print spooler service in services.msc but that hasn't helped.

Any advice?

Uninstall  KB4524147 and/or  KB4517211

    uninstalling the update that is mentioned in this thread is all that worked for us.  1/2 our computers had the issue, 1/2 didn't.

    I'm having the same problem.  The right printer is showing up, the printer says "ready," the system shows it is printing, but nothing happens.

    Paul, I have the same issue with my desktop.  Have you been able to fix the issue?  I have received little support on this issue from Microsoft other than wait on the phone for over an hour listening to bad music. And yes, no one in tech support has pick up the phone.

    Hi Paul,

    It was a known bug, and was expected to be resolved by KB4524147. But there are reports of this update not resolving the printer issue. Expect it to be fixed by Patch Tuesday updates, due tomorrow.
