Cannot print since latest Windows 10 update

Hi there,

One of our users can no longer print since her laptop got the most recent Windows 10 updates (her laptop is up-to-date as of this morning).

One of three things happens when she tries to print:

-- The application shows all the installed printers in the drop-down, but when she clicks print, nothing happens

-- The application shows all the installed printers in the drop-down, but when she clicks print, she gets an error saying there are no printers installed

-- The application does not show any printers

The printers are all showing in control panel.

It is not even possible to print to PDF.

I have tried restarting the print spooler service in services.msc but that hasn't helped.

Any advice?

Best

Paul

I think I am just going to try and keep Windows updates disabled until all this blows over...

Multiple of our clients reported error printing fro our software with error from CrystalReport saying "The handle is invalid". Removing KB4524148 fixed it.

I had the same issues with clients.  Uninstalling KB4524148 fixed some of them.  I have one that says it is installed but doesn't showup in the uninstall list.  Cannot uninstall KB4524148 for some weird reason.  was wondering if continuing to v1903 will fix this?

    Uninstall  KB4524147 and/or  KB4517211

I have OFFICE 2016 PRO using OUTLOOK 2016.  Windows 10 Pro v1809.  In my case, after KB4524148 was installed could no longer print (preview either) in OUTLOOK.  Other printing seemed to work OK.  I uninstalled KB5424148 and everything was OK.  I also had the same setup on another W10Pro v1809 system and CANNOT Uninstall KB5424148 although it said it was installed.  Does not showup in the "Uninstall List". Uninstalling printers really messed it up.  Will doing the full required updates to 1903 fix this?  Microsoft says they will release a "fix" to this problem (widely known) on 10/15/19....Ideas 'til then?

It didn't resolve it for my laptop.

Tech Support ended up helping me last Friday, the steps were long and as follows:

    1. Deleted Feature Update 1903 first
    2. Unitstalled all updates since October 3rd
    3. Uninstalled all printer software
    4. Added Printers using MS, w/o printer software and tested printers
    5. Installed KB4519338
    6. Tested the printing
    7. Installed Feature Update 1903, goto here to download and manually update it https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_10-windows\_install-winpc/how-to-perform-a-repair-upgrade-using-the-windows/35160fbe-9352-4e70-9887-f40096ec3085
    8. Installed printer software, I have 4 printers.
    9. Turned updates back on.

Everything has been working fine since I did this.
