Harman Kardon Invoke Setup Failure

Hello

I've owned my Harman/Kardon Invoke speaker for almost 3 years now, and haven't had an issue with it until now.

It stopped working suddenly, and when I tried to reset it (by holding the mute button for 5 seconds) the speaker never finishes setting up. The Cortana device setup app says it's ready to go, but the speaker itself never says so, the light just keeps slowly blinking forever.

I've tried using different WIFI networks, re-installing the setup app, trying the setup on my phone, and I've even made sure all my software is up to date. I have a theory that the device can never be linked to my account for some reason, since it never shows up in the "My Devices" panel in my Cortana app.

If anyone has a solution to this, it would be much appreciated!

    So I'm still weighing my options. Right now my plan is to try to block all outgoing and incoming traffic to the invoke on my router except for Spotify traffic. My thinking is this will allow me to continue to use the speaker as is indefinitely as a Spotify device because it will never recieve the update. Haven't tried yet though, I'll report back when I do.

    My one concern is that if someday for some reason my invoke gets reset or needs to be re-setup, I wouldn't be able to do so with the current software version. 

    So I'm wondering:

    1. Can the invoke be used as a Bluetooth speaker before setup? Can anyone with an un-setup invoke give it a shot?
    2. Is setup still working now for everyone? If it is, I'll just reset and give it a shot myself.

    Thanks everyone! I'm not giving up on this thing yet i think we can at least find a partial solution.

    As others have stated it would have been nice had they given us a $50 credit to Amazon or the like. They give us $50 back to their store where we have to by something else they may abandon in the future. :-D

    Have we started calling them Revokes yet? I think that is now a more appropriate name for these.

    So now my Invoke will not even do ANYTHING.  It has a spinning green light at the top.  I can hold down any and every button but it does not respond to anything.   After unplugging it, it immediately starts the spinning green light.  AAAGGH!

    Revokes...brilliant! For what it's worth, I bought some Polk Assists new off eBay for around $40 each - and they sound absolutely fantastic. They use Google Assistant, and supposedly use the Android Things platform to get updates directly from Google. Time will tell I guess, but if you're looking for something that sounds really good at the price point many of us got the Revokes/Invokes for, I'd say give these a shake.
