Harman Kardon Invoke Setup Failure

Hello

I've owned my Harman/Kardon Invoke speaker for almost 3 years now, and haven't had an issue with it until now.

It stopped working suddenly, and when I tried to reset it (by holding the mute button for 5 seconds) the speaker never finishes setting up. The Cortana device setup app says it's ready to go, but the speaker itself never says so, the light just keeps slowly blinking forever.

I've tried using different WIFI networks, re-installing the setup app, trying the setup on my phone, and I've even made sure all my software is up to date. I have a theory that the device can never be linked to my account for some reason, since it never shows up in the "My Devices" panel in my Cortana app.

If anyone has a solution to this, it would be much appreciated!

    You nailed it; this is absolutely hush money to avoid a Class Action Lawsuit.

    Honestly, so few of us were still using the Band, I imagine writing the checks for that end of life, was not a big deal, in the grand scheme of things. The Invokes however, seem to be MUCH more prevalent in the wild, which has backed them into a corner, on how to make us all go away quietly.

    I know for me, I bought my Invokes at $45 a head, so I am coming out slightly ahead...but then I remember I have to use the gift care on another Microsoft product, which they will inevitably kill off in spectacularly mismanaged fashion. Sometimes I genuinely wonder how Microsoft keeps surviving...than I remember I bought a Zune, Windows Phone, Band, and Invoke...which rather answers my question, doesn't it?

    For me it's a alot worse, my 4 invokes were all imported from the USA, so there's the original cost plus the shipping. Then there's 2 bands, 5 windows phones, a kinect and xbox one TV tuner. All dumped and ruined by Microsoft.

    The worst is not the money but I think the disappointment and lost productivity going from a perfectly integrated one company ecosystem, to the big mess that exist now.

    Yea, I totally get where you are coming from.

    Honestly, you bring up a good, larger conversation that expands outside of just the Invokes. Microsoft abandoning the Windows Phone with its one ecosystem, to sort of playing "halfsies" in Android. It's like, why do I want a Microsoft device, with an Android OS, a Google Assistant, an HTC Contact Manager, etc., etc., but all while wearing a Microsoft dress in the form of a Launcher? Why is this sort of mismanagement acceptable?

    I honestly believe Microsoft thinks we will buy anything. So killing things off is no real sweat, because they will introduce something new and shiny, and we always follow. It is unfortunate.

    Both of my Invokes have disappeared from Spotify/Spotify Connect. Anyone else? Have they already started killing our devices?
