So I don't really care about losing cortana on the invoke but spotify connect is a bige deal to me. Bluetooth audio quality is FAR worse. Do you think we could find a way to block the update? Maybe a blacklist we can ask Microsoft to add us to? I'd assume spotify would continue to work after the cortana shutdown.
I'm unplugging mine for all of 2021 because the update literally just removes features - we already have Bluetooth function so I don't need them stripping out the WiFi part. My hope is after they close the firmware update rollout server/timeframe I can plug them in, connect to WiFi and Spotify Connect still works. It may not, but, you're guaranteed it won't work if you take the update. Keeping the Invoke off-line also leaves the door open in case someone hacks or ports Alexa to it for example, and you can side-load it a la an Android update by using the USB service port on the bottom.
I just think there's something else potentially in the future for these devices, and I don't want to accept an OTA firmware that bricks mine and locks out the WiFi hardware for example. I have literally no use for a Bluetooth-only version of the Invoke, personally.
