Harman Kardon Invoke Setup Failure

Hello

I've owned my Harman/Kardon Invoke speaker for almost 3 years now, and haven't had an issue with it until now.

It stopped working suddenly, and when I tried to reset it (by holding the mute button for 5 seconds) the speaker never finishes setting up. The Cortana device setup app says it's ready to go, but the speaker itself never says so, the light just keeps slowly blinking forever.

I've tried using different WIFI networks, re-installing the setup app, trying the setup on my phone, and I've even made sure all my software is up to date. I have a theory that the device can never be linked to my account for some reason, since it never shows up in the "My Devices" panel in my Cortana app.

If anyone has a solution to this, it would be much appreciated!

But I made the mistake of waiting too long before setting the other two up. I have been trying since December 2019 to set them up using both my Windows 10 PC and an Android phone. The setup app can connect to the speakers and then have the speakers connect to my WiFi network. Everything seems to be going well but the set up process never finishes.

I think something changed recently and now Invoke setup and firmware update appears to be working again.
(I also noticed the Cortana app on iPhone has some recent updates.)

I have an old Invoke with old firmware.
Setting up an Invoke with Android failed during setup. I changed to iPhone Cortana app and Invoke setup worked. At the end of setup, the Invoke was able to receive the latest firmware: Barracuda_libre -11.1842.0

If you have an Invoke and want to update firmware:

First option: power cycle Invoke to see if it receives the new firmware.

Second option: Reset Invoke and re-do the setup on iPhone Cortana app.  (Reset by removing Invoke in Cortana app and then press-hold the Invoke mute button for 5 seconds.)

Let us know if this helps.

The Harman / Kardon Invoke lost connection to the Studio again.

~Four (4) hours of repeating setup produced a positive result.  Followed instructions many times, removed device

    My Microsoft Account auto-emailed a sign-in notification.

One difference at the end of the process: Pushed the Factory Reset Button

Somebody wrote about resetting by pushing the Factory Reset Button above(?).  Thank you.  The sound quality is again delightful.

Is there any value in pushing the reset button when it appears that MSFT has finally pulled the plug and bricked all HK Invokes?

There is a way to setup Invoke in the new Cortana app but I have not tried it since both of my Invokes still working absolutely perfect except for the Cortana noise
