Harman Kardon Invoke Setup Failure

Hello

I've owned my Harman/Kardon Invoke speaker for almost 3 years now, and haven't had an issue with it until now.

It stopped working suddenly, and when I tried to reset it (by holding the mute button for 5 seconds) the speaker never finishes setting up. The Cortana device setup app says it's ready to go, but the speaker itself never says so, the light just keeps slowly blinking forever.

I've tried using different WIFI networks, re-installing the setup app, trying the setup on my phone, and I've even made sure all my software is up to date. I have a theory that the device can never be linked to my account for some reason, since it never shows up in the "My Devices" panel in my Cortana app.

If anyone has a solution to this, it would be much appreciated!

I believe the linking issue with Skype has been fixed.  I am able to make outgoing calls now.

Same here, thanks for the post.

I have had the same issue at ThomasBee.   I have not been able to complete the setup process so I can use my invoke for the first time.  I am able to complete the setup process all the way up to the point when it tries to connect to the Microsoft server to update and it immediately fails the setup process.  I have tried completing the setup process on multiple networks, computers, and mobile phone and I always encounter the same issue.  Its pretty sad that I can't even use my speaker to play music.  Microsoft needs to fix this issue or stop requiring all these steps if you don't want to use Cortana at all.

I have exactly the same problem. Please help anyone! Microsoft!!! Why you are killing everything are creating? How people can trust your new devices???

I have exactly this issue. We have 2 Invokes that are working ok, although I never linked them to Skype or the XBox, so I can't say anything about that.

I gave my daughter a third one for Christmas and setup is failing exactly as described here. I swapped hers for one of the others so she has Spotify working on that and is happy enough, but I still have the new one that can't complete setup and so is a total brick.
