Windows 10 1909 File Explorer Search issue

Hmmm. Do you even DPI?

My grumble is that there's no way that I could change back to a "normal" file list after executing a search.

I think I may have solved that by opening a new window from the corrupted one and closing the original sick one with the searches.  Still a nusciance.

Restarting file explorer is crazy as I have at least two open windows and have to get back to where I was in the tree in each of them.

Ah, another Microsoft "improvement".  In this case it actually makes the search worse.  Is there a way to disable this new unified search and get the old functionality back?  All I need is a way to search files in the current folder and its sub-folders.   That's it.

For me the search box just becomes inaccessible after some time.  Yes, restarting file explorer fixes it. 

I'm experiencing the same problem, and like other, need to restart the "explorer.exe" process to regain functionality.

While I like the idea of the unified search, I'm not too sure the current implementation was ready for public use in a feature update release to Windows. All I really like about it is that up to the point where it glitches and requires an Explorer restart, is that when I'm typing a search query, it doesn't immediately search and requires me to press enter first to execute the query. Previous implementations of search started searching immediately, which could be a pain the .....

On a side note, Microsoft really needs to step up both their quality control and design game. 

• On the QC front, with all their beta testing, something this simple should not make it into the wild.
• On the design front, don't release a new feature like this without a function SOMEWHERE to disable it.  I don't care if I need to edit the registry, but this is core to the way I use Windows and you can't just change a customer's workflow without giving them an alternative.

What happened to explorer search? Unable to paste the copied

file name to search for as it was in previous versions. I have to

manually type the file name and press Enter. This is terrible! Why does Microsoft only make things worse with each new version ?!

I have the same problem you cannot paste into the search in Windows Explorer. Plus you cannot clear the results if you manually type something in. You have to close the window and start over. Huge bug!!!! Please fix I use this all the time on 10 different systems and this has extremely impacted my work. We are frantically blocking the upgrade in GPO on 5,000 machines!!!! Microsoft please fix ASAP!!!!
