Windows 10 1909 File Explorer Search issue

Right-clicking in the search box should give you a menu with the choice of "Paste" or "Undo."

 

It would appear as if the update suggested to me by "neilpzz" in the post before yours has partially solved the problem of the context menu.

This optional update took nearly 30 minutes to download and install, but the ALT+SPACE window menu still appears on right-click of the Search Bar when some other element of the Explorer window has input focus, or when I right-click on the Explorer Search Bar when an entirely different application (Word, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc) has foreground focus.

If Explorer is the foreground application, and the Search Box is currently focused and has the keyboard input cursor, then a Mouse Right-Click or keyboard PROPERTIES key press brings up the appropriate context menu.

At least actual searching from within Explorer is working properly again, including advanced filters and boolean operators.

The Right-click Context Menu that appears when the search box does not have focus is clearly the main Explorer window System Menu which is normally accessible via ALT+SPACE. When the Search Box does have keyboard input focus, a right-click does not produce a context menu at all!

Please explain?

Yep, this is a bug as seen here https://twitter.com/WithinRafael/status/1222250069472108544. You'll have to give the fake textbox focus (via keyboard or left-click) before it will show the context menu.

I'll file bugs and try to push the Shell team to fix it, but I'll need your help! File bugs in Feedback Hub, tweet @WindowsInsider @jenmsft @brandonleblanc, keep making noise here, etc.

The Feedback Hub tool doesn't really live up to it's name, but I'll give it another go anyway for all the help it'll provide.

Apologies if this comment seems off-thread.  I believe it is not.  My earlier entry lamented how CTRL + S in my File Explorer 'Music' Folder, no longer responded by placing the cursor in the Search box to (say) enter "The Four Seasons" and to then display all tracks by this Group.  A correction must have been made by MS since my initial post, as the CTRL + S functionality has now returned, further improved by a drop-down list displaying all tracks by The Artist chosen..  I have actually sent Feedback to MS thanking them.  Only fair I felt.  I can now withdraw from this topic.
