Unable to update 2020-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4528760) - Error 0x800f0831

As the title says.  I have tried downloading and installing manually and through windows update.  This will not install.  Any help?

    Honestly Microsoft, can you put out an update in any recent months without completely wrecking our servers or workstations.. This is past ridiculous now. It's bad enough that bad actors are exploiting the OS all the time without Microsoft doing it to its paying customers. It must be just about class action time...

    I can't recall where I read this, but an installation specialist named Greg, who said he is a "10 year Windows MVP and Volunteer Moderator", posted several possible solutions. Below is #3 in his list of suggestions that worked for me. Thanks, Greg!

    ----Try manually resetting Windows Update Service:

    Open administrative Command Prompt and type following commands one-by-one, followed by Enter key.

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    Close Command Prompt and see if Windows Updates works.

    Thanks saltyceolyfe. I have a very poor IT knowledge and do not know to all this.

    Why MS just fix the bug and send new up date.

    It is not first time that they issue a faulty update.
