Out of Windows 10 Minecraft redeem codes?

You will no longer be able to redeem your free Minecraft Windows 10 code from Mojang. This had to be done by Monday 20th April 2020.

.

.

.

So I'm trying to redeem Minecraft for Windows 10 (I purchased the game back in 2011) and I keep getting this error upon hitting the redeem button:

Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!

Are there really no codes available right now or is this a error on my end somehow?

This thread has run its course and would be locked. Those seeking Minecraft Windows 10 edition should see a code on the redeem page.

Windows 10 Code Error - Fixed!

The redemption program would end on April 20, 2020 so make sure to get the code before.

If you purchased Minecraft Java Edition before October 18, 2018, you will see a button that says “Redeem” in your account.

·       If the button is grayed out, you’ve already claimed the code. Log in to your Microsoft account to redownload the game.

·       If you don’t have a Redeem button, you purchased Minecraft Java Edition after October 18, 2018 and are not eligible for this promotion.

update: 17th April 2020

Mojang are aware that there are no codes available at the moment, for those eligible. They are actively working on this and will get it working before the deadline.

Update: 18th April 2020

I tried doing this and they told me it was all on Mojang and they couldn't do anything, unfortunately.

    GOOD NEWS GUYS!!

I was able to get in touch with someone from Microsoft customer support via a live chat feature!! I've been following this thread since the beginning, and I've tried everything.. finally I talked to someone and explained my issue, I told them I would like to send them a screenshot and they said they'd validate it. Soon after, they came back and redeemed it on my Microsoft account! So please, please just do this and I'm sure you will get it within 10-ish minutes:

    • Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/
    • Click the small blue Contact support in browser insteadbutton
    • Type your issue, and select the "no this article did not help" until you get an option to talk with a person
    • Choose the "product" as "Windows"
    • Select issue as "PC gaming and Xbox app"
    • Click "Chat"
    • Explain the problem to them
    • Tell them you would like to send them a screenshot of the error message
    • They will send you a link to a spot where you can securely upload an image file

MAKE SURE THE IMAGE HAS YOUR PURCHASE DATE AND THE "REDEEM MINECRAFT           FOR WINDOWS 10" BUTTON IN IT, AS WELL AS THE ERROR MESSAGE!!!

    • Wait for them to validate it (took about 2-3 min for me)

And BAM! They should be able to redeem it to your Microsoft account! I've been waiting for so long to be able to play with my Xbox friends, I really hope this helps you guys <3

5 minutes ago I contacted one of the support. She (or he) didn't know what to do, I explained her (him) all the issue and she (he) told me that soon a "game specialist" will contact me to give me the code for the windows 10 version of Minecraft...hope she (he) was not lying...

I contacted someone called 'Ellen' last night in an attempt to get a Windows 10 code so I could play with my mates on PS4 and XBox. Ellen said that she would pass the case onto a higher-tier management status to hopefully get resolved and I linked this thread in an attempt to help others and to raise awareness of this issue. Ellen replied saying that this is a known issue and they are collected all the information necessary from everyone that is contacting the live chat support.

Honestly, I don't think this is getting resolved I believe we are going to have to end up buying another edition of Minecraft which is totally out of order to me considering we are all OG Minecraft players that have had the game and supported the game for years. I, for example, have had the Java Edition of the game since 2011 when I was just 8 years old and it really is a shame that they can't provide a code or just give us the Windows 10 edition because I literally provided proof of ownership and the error and they seem to just be brushing it off saying it's going to a 'game specialist' or 'higher-tier' when I highly doubt it isn't. Good luck to anyone still attempting to fight this case however I just don't see the point anymore...

From what I recall, it looks like the only change they made was to remove the link that directed you to sign into your mojang account to try and claim the free copy of minecraft...
