Out of Windows 10 Minecraft redeem codes?

You will no longer be able to redeem your free Minecraft Windows 10 code from Mojang. This had to be done by Monday 20th April 2020.

.

.

.

So I'm trying to redeem Minecraft for Windows 10 (I purchased the game back in 2011) and I keep getting this error upon hitting the redeem button:

Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!

Are there really no codes available right now or is this a error on my end somehow?

This thread has run its course and would be locked. Those seeking Minecraft Windows 10 edition should see a code on the redeem page.

Windows 10 Code Error - Fixed!

https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360038403371-Windows-10-Code-Error

The redemption program would end on April 20, 2020 so make sure to get the code before.

If you purchased Minecraft Java Edition before October 18, 2018, you will see a button that says “Redeem” in your account.

·       If the button is grayed out, you’ve already claimed the code. Log in to your Microsoft account to redownload the game.

·       If you don’t have a Redeem button, you purchased Minecraft Java Edition after October 18, 2018 and are not eligible for this promotion.

update: 17th April 2020

Mojang are aware that there are no codes available at the moment, for those eligible. They are actively working on this and will get it working before the deadline.

I contacted microsoft via "Contact Us" on this page:

    https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/games-apps/game-titles/minecraft-info

Got into a web chat, told them the error.

They supplied a secure file sharing link where I uploaded the screen shot from the Mojang account page, showing the error and my Xbox gamertag and other information about the Minecraft Java edition I owned.

5-10 minutes later they had confirmed my Gamertag and redeemed the game onto my account for me.

    Success!

Great that Mojang finally posted something about this issue.

For those not wanting to wait, this previously posted solution just worked for me and took all of 30 minutes. I'm recapping here with more detail.

    1. Go to: https://beta.support.xbox.com/contact-us
    2. Click the prompts to get chatting with an "Xbox Gamer".
    3. Explain your issue (and politeness counts! these support folks are not the enemy, don't treat them as such). Your goal is to get them to escalate the issue to an Xbox specialist. If they suggest putting in a ticket just reference this message board thread and how lots of people who were told to put in tickets have waited without receiving a response.
    4. When the Xbox Gamer escalates your issue to a specialist, they have to end their chat session with you. Keep the chat window open, and you have to click "yes my issue was resolved" (yeah this is counter-intuitive).
    5. Text will eventually appear saying "sorry we couldn't resolve your issue" and you will be provided a link to connect to a specialist; click it to get in the queue for a chat with a specialist.
    6. The specialist will likely require you to send a screenshot of what you see when logged into your Mojang account (which shows your original Minecraft Java purchase date, and the button to redeem your free Minecraft Windows 10 copy).
    7. 5 minutes later, you're all set... you'll see the game applied to your Microsoft account at: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/ and can go to the Microsoft Store on your computer and browse to "Minecraft for Windows 10" (note there's a lot of different editions of Minecraft so make sure you find this one), and you should be able to play immediately.

Sorry to all those who had to wait weeks and weeks for resolution on this. It's only because of all your pain that I was able to find this thread. Hoping my post here pays it forward.

Folllow ur guide, and eventually got this game in 5 minutes! Thank u sooooo much!!
