You will no longer be able to redeem your free Minecraft Windows 10 code from Mojang. This had to be done by Monday 20th April 2020.

.

.

.

So I'm trying to redeem Minecraft for Windows 10 (I purchased the game back in 2011) and I keep getting this error upon hitting the redeem button:

Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!

Are there really no codes available right now or is this a error on my end somehow?

This thread has run its course and would be locked. Those seeking Minecraft Windows 10 edition should see a code on the redeem page.

Windows 10 Code Error - Fixed!

https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360038403371-Windows-10-Code-Error

The redemption program would end on April 20, 2020 so make sure to get the code before.

If you purchased Minecraft Java Edition before October 18, 2018, you will see a button that says “Redeem” in your account.

·       If the button is grayed out, you’ve already claimed the code. Log in to your Microsoft account to redownload the game.

·       If you don’t have a Redeem button, you purchased Minecraft Java Edition after October 18, 2018 and are not eligible for this promotion.

update: 17th April 2020

Mojang are aware that there are no codes available at the moment, for those eligible. They are actively working on this and will get it working before the deadline.

Update: 18th April 2020

Ugh. Still no resolve? :( It's December 19th now... I've had Java Edition since 2013...

I bought my Minecraft in December 2013 and i tried contacting the live chat and I got this:

"It appears that you are indeed eligible to get the Windows 10 version of Minecraft as players who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018 can have it through the page you were trying to claim it. As much as we would like to provide you a code for it, we actually didn't receive an update yet with codes to be provided to eligible players. However, we are collating this case as you're not the first one to report it and have been trying for a long time to get it. I have your account on the list, while we wait for updates about it, please be advised to contact Mojang regarding it. I understand that you have tried contacting them already but  I strongly suggest you try submitting a ticket again to them as they're the ones who will be processing the code for this. Minecraft Java Edition purchases done on 2013 cannot be checked from Microsoft's end yet as it's not through Microsoft store."

"I'm afraid there's no way for us to verify purchases for Minecraft Java Edition even if you have a screenshot, order number and any other order details as it can be checked through Mojang's end only. "

"Purchase from Minecraft Xbox and Windows 10 are the ones we can check from our end."

Yes, I agree. This is simply terrible customer service, and it seems they just want us to purchase the game (which is not surprising with Microsoft). I really hope this can be resolved soon, as I want the game but I'm not too serious about it so I won't buy it. This is very disappointing to see from a company that could very easily resolve the issue by just generating some random codes...
