Hello,

I have installed the latest update of windows 10 (home and pro).

Windows 10 Pro - 1909 (v. 18363.476)

Now the "search" tab is no longer in the folders and I can't clear the search history either. Where is this tab?!

I dont even have the option to search by date, week, day, month, year etc.  my search tab is gone since installing Microsoft 365 (which I pay for annually!!), my cloud says there's no room left though I have 1T a huge amount of room, and there are no fixes.  unacceptable!!!  it's an essential feature

Not only does the search tab not show up, I can no longer search by a particular date modified.  i.e, I cannot choose a specific date, the only choices are the drop down list of "last week" etc.  The only way to search by one particular day is to pick from the previous search, choose modified today, then back up and manually type in the date and delete the search word term.  It's totally bizarre that this is not fixed or that they didn't notice it was an issue.  The search tool has been totally destroyed.

I had 2 sessions with Microsoft support plus a remote session via settings / get help.  Even these agents were nor aware of this situation and was led a merry dance around my system settings including rolling back to version 1906 . I am using feature update 2004.

I also have a works laptop which is still on version 1809 and the advanced tab is automatically displayed when u click on the search field in file explorer.

At the end of the sessions with Microsoft today, they couldn't definitively confirm that this behaviour was a new feature of the update but they suggested that it probably was. They told me to post in Feedback hub which i have already done.

If this is in fact a new feature of the recent updates i.e. 1906 and 2004 , then MS are really irrational and witless!  Why break something that was working well.

I wasted so much time on this and the frustration it caused - which cannot ever be recovered
