Missing search tab - File Explorer (Windows 10 - 1909)

Hello,

I have installed the latest update of windows 10 (home and pro).

Windows 10 Pro - 1909 (v. 18363.476)

Now the "search" tab is no longer in the folders and I can't clear the search history either. Where is this tab?!

    Me too.  I click in the "search" box and the Search tab does not appear.  I type in the search box, and the Search tab does not appear.  I have tried everything to get the Search tab to appear.  It doesn't.

    Dear Microsoft -- this "appearing/disappearing tab" thing is a loser.  Just pin the "search" tab.  Turn it on. Always.

    Do search for anything and search tab pops up.

    For those looking for a work around to search by date, (which I do a LOT of) try the following.  I keep a note pad on my desktop with information I frequently need so I can just copy and paste stuff instead of typing it out repeatedly. I've added this bit to my collection.

    datemodified:‎9/‎22/‎2020 .. ‎9/‎25/‎2020

    or for a single day

    datemodified:‎9/‎9/‎2020

    If you replace the numbers with the date range you want to search, you can paste that directly into the search box (for those of us lucky enough to still HAVE a search box) and it will search just like it used to (at least on my computer). Maybe some day Microsoft will actually fix something, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope these will help someone out in the meantime.

    Here's some of the other codes. Not sure if these ones still work, having tried them

    size:medium

    size:large

    size:huge

    size:gigantic

    type:

    name:

    folderpath:

    tags:

    kind:=document

    kind:=email (you get the picture, I'm not going to list all these out.)
