Hello,
I have installed the latest update of windows 10 (home and pro).
Windows 10 Pro - 1909 (v. 18363.476)
Now the "search" tab is no longer in the folders and I can't clear the search history either. Where is this tab?!

I had 2 sessions with Microsoft support plus a remote session via settings / get help. Even these agents were nor aware of this situation and was led a merry dance around my system settings including rolling back to version 1906 . I am using feature update 2004.
I also have a works laptop which is still on version 1809 and the advanced tab is automatically displayed when u click on the search field in file explorer.
At the end of the sessions with Microsoft today, they couldn't definitively confirm that this behaviour was a new feature of the update but they suggested that it probably was. They told me to post in Feedback hub which i have already done.
If this is in fact a new feature of the recent updates i.e. 1906 and 2004 , then MS are really irrational and witless! Why break something that was working well.
I wasted so much time on this and the frustration it caused - which cannot ever be recovered
agreed. And I for one am paying an annual fee for 365. And this is an essential feature. It's unacceptable. and a big disappointment.
Unfortunately the Search tab only becomes available after an initial search.
Have you posted in the Feedback Hub.?
problem still here with latest update.
so, are we giving up on microsoft? clearly it's been a year or so and they won't accept this as a fault so are there any explorer alternatives that we can use?
